About the Program…….
Helping Hands is a home based multi-aged preschool that provides a deeply nourishing and satisfying early school experience for young children ages 3-6 years. Maximum enrollment is 9. Children are not required to be completely potty trained but the process should be underway at home.
The program engages the whole child through free-play, music, stories, artistic expression, and movement, to enhance their physical and emotional development. Children are provided with a predictable rhythm in which to experience a variety of hands-on activities to foster a positive self concept, develop social skills, and encourage them to: think, reason, question, and experiment, on their own. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided and following our theme of being eco-friendly they will always consist of organic foods whenever possible and vegetables harvested from the garden.
Kindergarten and First Grade Ready Children…
For children who will be ready for either kindergarten or first grade the following school year and whose parents are concerned about their academic readiness for a traditional school system, I will introduce them to the basic upper case alphabet, numbers 1-10, and colors, in preparation for their further education. This will be done through verse, song, and movement, engaging the whole child in a fun and artistic experience.
Hours of Operation…..
Hours of operation will be 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday and will follow the SAU 29 school calendar during the months when school is in session, including snow days, and will be open all summer except for one week when I will be away. Parents will have ample notification to make alternate arrangements for childcare. I hope to offer some flexibility in hours of operation to accommodate parents particular work hour needs.
